Mange kjente personer besøker jevnlig Son Gual.

Her er rapport fra Pinmar Golf competition som ble arrangert for 29. gang.

SON GUAL EVENT ADDS TO PINMAR CHARITY POT
Son Gual, Mallorca's number-one golf destination, hosted the 29th annual Pinmar Golf competition - with event organisers confident of raising €100,000 for charity.
Now one of the most important events in the yachting calendar, in terms of networking and fundraising, the Pinmar Golf attracted nearly 350 golfers to the venue, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last month.

Among the throng of golfers was Pinmar's golf ambassador, 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie, who brought along his replica Claret Jug as both proved very popular for ‘selfies'.

More than €20,000 was raised at the club over the two-day event, before revellers moved on to a party at Palma's newest nightspot, the Social Club, where more fundraising took place.

The crew of superyacht Zenobia won the coveted Pinmar Trophy for best nett score - the first team to defend the title successfully for more than 20 years.
Andrew Clemence, chief commercial officer of Global Yachting Group (GYG) - the parent company of superyacht finishing specialist Pinmar - said: "This year's event was bigger and more challenging to deliver than ever before. We had 344 golfers, more than 100 sponsors and three separate parties to organise with over 800 guests - altogether a huge undertaking.

"Thanks to a huge collaborative effort, we delivered on all fronts and the feedback from our guests, partners, sponsors and the trade media has thus far been extremely positive. The success of this year's event will, I hope, further enhance Pinmar's reputation."

He added: "I am delighted to report that we have already exceeded last year's fundraising total of €81,000, and still have funds to bank, so we will hopefully reach our target of €100,000. All the money raised will be used to support a mix of local Mallorquin and international charities - including the relief effort in the Caribbean following Hurricanes Irma and Maria."

Son Gual's €30m Thomas Himmel-designed 7,240-yard, par-72 course celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. It features large lakes, 66 bunkers, 800 olive trees - some more than a thousand years old - wild flowers in the rough and vineyards in several areas around the course.

It includes several outstanding, memorable holes, including a closing hole described by one reviewer as a "serious contender for Europe's best par-five and Spain's most dramatic 18th", plus one of the best collections of par-three holes in Spain.

Son Gual is also a regular celebrity haunt - visitors have included German FIFA World Cup-winning captain Lothar Matthäus; German national football manager Joachim Löw; the former mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg; tennis' 15-time grand-slam event winner Rafael Nadal; and any number of instantly recognisable faces from the worlds of TV and entertainment.
