Det er mange år siden nå. Rundt 15. I det siste har banen gjennomgått en kraftig oppgradering. I Portugal får man ganske mye for fire millioner euro.

The decision of Praia D’El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort to undertake a €4 million upgrade of its luxury facilities is in line to pay immediate dividends with the leading Portuguese venue having been shortlisted for two top honours at the 2019 World Travel Awards.

The five-star sports and lifestyle resort on Portugal’s stunning Silver Coast is in the running for global recognition after being nominated in the categories of ‘Portugal’s Leading Resort’ and ‘Portugal’s Leading Family Resort’.

And the level of investment has been matched on the golfing side, with the resort having carried out a number of changes including a major renovation of its golf academy to complement the five-star golf experience that members and guests can enjoy on its two 18-hole courses, Praia D’El Rey and West Cliffs Golf Links – named as the ‘World’s Best New Course’ at the 2017 World Golf Awards.
